Heather Parris, the owner of Self Propelled Tours in Sedona decided to fix up donated bikes and give them to people with no cars. Then they could self-propel themselves to find jobs, to work and become mobile.
She got seven bikes very quickly and felt Angie’s Place was the perfect place to donate her bikes.
Angela Lozano, Director of Angie’s Place, operates a homeless shelter, two men’s houses, two women’s houses and six transitional homes. Angies House provides housing for people dealing with addiction, mental illness and homelessness and many are families.
“It’s for people who need housing and immediate housing,” Lozano said.
Parris said she got seven bikes, but two were not fixable. And then Absolute Bikes Sedona donated bike helmets and Zoomers Bike and Gear fixed the bikes in Cottonwood.
“It’s needed transportation and easy transportation,” explained Parris.
